One of the biggest transfer speculations in recent times has been about Austrian David Alaba, who earlier this season announced his departure to Bayern Munich to seek new challenges in one of the other top 5 leagues in Europe.

The two main clubs in the media spotlight have been French PSG and Spanish Real Madrid, and now it looks like the latter capital club has run with Alaba's signature.

Sky Germany today announces a contract offer which will link the Austrian defender to Madrid until 2026. The next step in the process should be a signature and subsequently an official announcement.

Alaba came to Bayern Munich back in 2009 and has played a total of 427 matches for the club - he has scored 33 goals and made 53 assists in his time with the South German giants.
