The Italian national team gets an old midfield acquaintance reconnected when the former Roma general, Daniele De Rossi, returns to Squadra Azzurra as assistant coach. The Italian Football Federation already announced the news of De Rossi on Wednesday, confirming that the 37-year-old Italian has been hired as the new assistant coach under Roberto Mancini. Daniele De Rossi announced his career break as an active player in 2020 after a six-month stay in Argentine Boca Juniors, who can now look forward to having a different influence on the Italian national team.

De Rossi will take up the position of assistant coach with immediate effect, and can therefore be found on the training ground between Roberto Mancini's selected Italian national team players on Sunday, where the team will prepare for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Northern Ireland, Bulgaria and Lithuania respectively.
