Through PSSI, Indonesia officially volunteered to host the 2021 U-20 World Cup. The reason PSSI considers having a lot of experience.

There are seven other countries that will compete with Indonesia, namely Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Myanmar, Thailand, and Peru.

The process of hosting is still long. On the upcoming June 21, 2019, is a deadline for all associations who have submitted themselves to confirm their desire to hold the 2021 U-20 World Cup.

After that, all associations that are still interested in hosting are given the opportunity to include all the documents needed for the bidding process until August 30, 2019. The appointment of the 2021 U-20 World Cup host will be decided by FIFA in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Head of Media Relations and Digital Promotion of PSSI Gatot Widakdo explained the reason the PSSI volunteered because they saw experience, one of which successfully hosted the 2019 Asian Games and other soccer championships. PSSI can be confidently chosen.

"We have successfully held the Asian Games, then the AFC U-19 Cup, we also successfully hosted the Under-16 AFF Cup in Sidoarjo, so the reason for our experience is to try to host the U-20 World Cup," Gatot said when contacted reporter on Saturday (04/25/2019).

"We want to try in a championship with a higher level. We see we have a chance. Moreover, the infrastructure also exists after holding a lot of big events," he continued.

"We also see that infrastructures in Indonesia are also getting better. Especially stadiums, which are supported by other infrastructures, such as hotels. So, the minimum requirement to be able to hold the 2021 U-20 World Cup, God willing, we can fulfill," he added.
