It is now official, Karen Carney has been confirmed as the new captain of Chelsea Women. Taking the baton from Katie Chapman, the former captain, who has been an instrumental part of the team in its many winnings and achievements. 


Who Is Karen Carney

She is  English international (Obviously) football winger currently with the Chelsea Ladies and an integral part of the England women's national football team. She has made more than 100 appearances for England, including World Cups and Olympics.

Carney has won several awards Including being named FA Young Player of the Year twice and been awarded an MBE for services to football During the Olympic Games in London. She has been in several teams including Arsenals, Birmingham City, Chicago Red Stars, etc.

The Lionesses will be led by the sweet but firm Carney as they journey in the quest to repeat last season's trophy success. We all pray for the best for her as she just recently recovered from injury.

Assisting Carney in her role, as vice-captain, will be Millie Bright, who is approaching four years with the Blues and recently extended her stay at Chelsea till 2021. At 25, Bright has played a key role in both of our domestic Doubles, plus the Spring Series triumph in 2017, and she has also become a regular for the team and will be handling the arm band in case of any situation.
