FA Cup 5th round showdown continues with some exciting fixtures set to kick off later today. Yesterday was an amazing one most especially for the Chelsea fans who saw their team beat Liverpool 2 nil at the Bridge to make it through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Coming up later today is yet another exciting continuation of the ongoing FA cup 5th round games, as Spurs set to host Norwich at home.
Spurs are in a bad run of form at the moment and their last 2 premier league games have seen them with 2 back-to-back defeats. This season has been a bit of a see-saw season for them as they’ve been going up and down. However, they will be glad to even be in the position they are at the moment as they looked like a team that could struggle in the bottom half of the table earlier this season. Regardless of their ups and downs so far, they are still one of the strong top 4 candidates and will be fighting till the end to play champions league football next season. Their FA Cup campaign is still on as they will be hosting fellow premier league side, Norwich, at home as they aim to progress into the quarter-finals. A tricky fixture for Spurs even though the odds are in favour of them getting the job done at home, as Norwich can be a tricky side to play against.
Spurs are expected to set up in a 3-4-3 or a 4-2-3-1 formation for this game. As I usually say, when it comes to a Mourinho managed side, there is nothing much to say in terms of tactics and gameplay as there will most likely be a definite pattern of play, instead, he is more focused on the results and doing anything to ensure that he gets the win even if it means be extremely pragmatic.
Norwich City are another team who are in a terrible situation this season and without a doubt, they are one of the relegation candidates this season. Last week was massive for them as they finally got 3 points in their game against Leicester United who are having a superb season so far in 3rd position. Even though they are sitting bottom of the premier league, they still have a chance of escaping relegation if they are able to get enough wins from now till the final game of the season. They are still in the FA cup and will be going up against Spurs later today at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A very difficult game for them, but they will be optimistic that they can upset Spurs who are out of form at the moment, to make it through to the quarter-finals.
Norwich are expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. They are the underdogs in this fixture, however, there is a huge possibility for them to have a good game as Spurs aren’t that great when it comes to keeping the ball and controlling the game. Notwithstanding, Norwich will be aiming to take the game to Spurs and cause them lots of problems.
What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?
I would love to read your thoughts and opinions… Enjoy your day.
