It is just a matter of few days before the much-awaited premier league actions return this weekend. It’s matchday 26 as always, lots of exciting matches coming up. Spurs who are getting closer and closer in the top 4 race will be going up against Aston Villa at the Villa Park this Sunday, as they aim to close the gap even further.
Aston Villa are one of the huge favorites to return back to the championship this season, as it is just a point separating them and the teams in the relegation zone. It hasn’t been an easy season for them alongside Norwich City, only Sheff United have distanced themselves as one of the newly-promoted side and are in fact currently a top 4 candidate. The good news for Villa is that it is not over for them yet as they can still very much secure a comfortable stay in the premier league if they are able to pile up valuable points before the end of the season. They will be hosting Spurs at home this Sunday as they continue their fight for survival this season.
Aston Villa will most likely set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, they are going up against a top team, so for them, the approach to the game will be a lot different. They will most likely set up to make it very difficult for Spurs to have their way in the game and at the same time, keep their eyes on opportunities in the game to hurt Spurs.
Spurs have somehow found the much-needed form after going 3 games without a win and have already bounced back with back-to-back wins in their recent 2 matches. They are one of the top contenders for the top 4 this season and as expected, Jose Mourinho and his Spurs side are not relenting on their efforts to finish in the top 4 this season. They will be facing Aston Villa at the Villa Park this Sunday as they aim to reduce the gap to 2 points before Chelsea battle it out against Man United at the Bridge next week Monday. This fixture against Aston Villa is a bit of a try one for Spurs as Villa can be a very difficult team to play against like we have seen so far this season. Nevertheless, the odds are tipping Spurs to get the job done at Villa Park this Sunday.
Spurs will most likely set up in their preferred 4-2-3-1 formation for this fixture and as always, there isn’t any definite pattern of play or gameplay identity when it comes to a Mourinho led team as we all know that Jose Mourinho is all about the win and it doesn’t matter to him how the win comes, even if it means that the team does play well, but finally gets the all-important 3 points.
What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?
I would love to read your thoughts and opinions… Enjoy your day.
