Second division football team FC St. Pauli jumped to the relegation place by a victory in the table penultimate MSV Duisburg. The Hamburger won in the Monday match 1-0 (0: 0).

The deciding goal was scored by substitute Sami Allagui with two minutes to go (84 '). The Duisburg conceded their turn after their 2-1 win at 1. FC Cologne two weeks ago with their first defeat under the new coach Torsten Lieberknecht.

In front of 20,130 spectators in the Duisburg Arena, both teams came into the game with great momentum. St. Paulis's Marvin Knoll missed the first big opportunity of the match, failing in the ninth minute against Duisburg goalkeeper Daniel Mesenhöler. Other great opportunities remained in the first half, however, in short supply. Duisburg was safe, but was offensively set no accents.
