There's an interesting story about Johan Cruyff and Ajax team in Istanbul.

Ajax team with the legend Johan Cruyff came to Istanbul, Turkey for the 2nd tour, 2nd leg game of the Uefa Champions Leauge 1968/69 season. Normally the game should be played on the day of 27 November 1968, yet Mithatpaşa (Beşiktaş's İnönü Stadium) Stadium was ruined by the rain so game was delayed to next day.

On the 28 November, rain was still going on yet Ajax team had to go to the stadium. Because of the slippery roads Ajax's team bus involves in an accident. Taxi driver asks for traffic police to keep record.

Somehow Ajax team makes to the Mithatpaşa Stadium and wins the game against Fenerbahçe with the 2-0 score. Here's the statistics of the game on uefa website.

We need some proof right? Here is the photographs of the accident:

Ajax footballers are checking the accident.
Johan Cruyff is arguing with the Taxi Driver...
