Chelsea had previously made an attempt to sign Marquinhos last Summer but the transfer failed because Paris Saint Germain are not ready to let him go, it was a sweet offer that was made by Chelsea, offering £81 Million to gain the heart of the centre defender but all efforts made was futile and the transfer window closed. Chelsea had been making all possibles efforts to sign Jules Kounde also last summer and made an offer of up to €65 Million but Sevilla asking price was more higher which Chelsea wasn't willing to pay that price tagged on him.

However, two of Chelsea defender are in their last year of their contract Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, though there is willingness in Andreas Christensen signing a contract extension of five years but there is an issue with his agent, its as if he doesn't want him to continue staying at Chelsea because Barcelona are said to be interested in signing him and other clubs too. Though there is still chances that Christensen will renew his contract but the issue lies on Antonio Rudiger who is not ready to extend any contract because Chelsea are not ready to listen to any of his offer.

Antonio Rudiger is ready to sign only if Chelsea is willing to pay him £200k which was his expectation but if not there has been interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. That was the reason why Chelsea is still looking for a suitable candidate to replace them but Marquinhos see s o satisfied with Paris Saint Germain and he is enjoying his moment there.
