Frank Lampard has really improved his team as Chelsea transformed into a better team lately, Chelsea outclassed Newcastle United and beat them 2-0 at St. James Park Stadium in the round nine of the English Premier League 2020/2021 season. Chelse scored got their first goal from mistake made by the Newcastle United defender while Ben Chilwell was about to kick a square play in to the net but as Newcastle United playertried to defend the goal it leads to own goal. The second goal was scored by Tammy Abraham from a beautiful pass laid by Timo Werner. Chelsea are now unbeaten in nine games and currently on five game winning streak in all competition. After the victory against Newcastle Chelsea has climbed up to third position which looks like a positive performance so far.
Chelsea are now one of the contender for the English Premier League, though it was so tough last season as they couldn't sign any player last season due to transfer ban but they hit the market so hard this season and they are getting the good result of the money well spent by bringing big players into the team in other to reinforce the team. Chelsea has successfully fill their lapses which really made them suffered heavily last season. One of the player that made the defense so balanced and amended was Edouard Mendy who has secured the goal post and has helped Chelsea from conceding unnecessary goal.
Kurt Zouma has also improved and he has been the talk in Chelsea the way he has so much adapted to the team and has been holding the defense line firmly, one of the young players I will also commend his Reece James who has been playing the right back wing with a lot of confidence. Ben Chilwell also has made the left back stronger and it's not certain if either of Emerson or Alonso could bench him because of his outstanding performance, he really proved him self worthy that's why Frank Lampard has made him his first choice.
Chelsea attacking has been great and most of the player can scored from any angle, Chelsea has more goal percentage than last season which is so pleasing and it shows how impactful the new signing has made the team better. Chelsea moved on with UEFA Champions League competition game four tomorrow as they will host Rennes at the Stamford Bridge Stadium, Chelsea has previously beat Rennes in france and they will be batting the second leg for Survival.
