17th July 2014. Presentation of Toni Kroos at the Santiago Bernabeu. Personally I feel like this signing was a robbery and was a biggest steal of the century. Getting a player like Toni Kroos on cut price as his contract was to expire the next season has been the deal of the decade without a doubt, also Kroos was just 24 years old back then so he was a long term addition to the squad. Post 2013 I don't think Real Madrid have signed any player who has been as good and vital as Kroos.
Post Xabi Alonso's departure, Real Madrid needed a regista in the side who could build up the play from behind and control the tempo and where could the club find someone better than Toni Kroos! It's been 4 years and if we leave out that unfortunate 2014/15 season all the rest has been fruitful and Kroos has played an important role in the triumphs.
People talk about a lot of midfielders, their abilities and all but being honest I have not seen many midfielders as smart as Toni Kroos. He dictates the game in midfield, can ignite a quick attack within moments also he can hold the ball as per need. He can drop a pinpoint accurate pass from anywhere to anywhere on the pitch no matter how much under pressure. He positions himself perfectly and guides Casemiro to take the perfect position. He is simply a genius. He does everything in midfield and he does it all with perfection.
