Good day guys! Today is a big day for football lovers all over the world, as we get ready to witness one of the biggest clashes so far in the ongoing UEFA champions league. Tonight, all attention will be at Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, as it plays host to two European powerhouses. Yes, it's Barcelona taking on the most dreaded team in the competition, Bayern. In fact, it's been a while I watched a football game that the catalan giants will be considered to underdog. From the bettors to bookmakers, to an average fan on the street, the sentiment is in Favour of the Bavaria club to progress to the next round. It's a bit interesting for me, especially as a Barca fan who has grown up getting used to Barca being the favorite in most of their games.
This season has seen Barcelona perform below expectations, and one of it's results saw them lose the league title to arch rivals, Real Madrid. With Atletico having been eliminated by Leipzig on Wednesday night, Barca is the only Spanish club still left in the competition. The catalan coach, Setien is under huge pressure and will be hoping that tonight will be one of those nights when Messi's magic happens, of course, that will buy him time in the club. However, there are worries over the possibility of Barca surviving a highflying Bayern Munich side tonight, judging from their previous outings. Many football analysts are of the view that the former Spanish champions only managed to get this far on the weakness of other teams, and not on their own strength.
If Gattuso's Napoli were clinical enough when they had the chances, maybe we won't be seeing Barca against Bayern in this quarter finals. But tonight shoul be a different ball game for Messi and his squad, if they want to stand a chance of survival against a dreaded team like Bayern. A mistake against Bayern will see them pay dearly for it, especially with the goal dragon Lewandowski currently firing from all cylinders. In all, it's gonna be an uphill task for the Spanish side and they will surely be hoping for a little luck to pull through this fortress. It's a battle for a spot in final four and I can't even wait for it no more. What's your prediction, do you really see Barcelona surviving tonight?
