Hurray! The UEFA champions league is back in our shores, after about five months break due to the covid-19 pandemic. If you're an avid football fan, then you will agree with me that the feeling and atmosphere that comes with a champions league night is priceless, especially when you have two heavyweights going against each other. On Friday night, Manchester City will be welcoming an in-form Real Madrid side at the Etihad, as they look forward to booking a spot at the quarter finals. It hasn't been one of the best seasons for Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, as they lost the league title to Liverpool.

However, City's champions league outing has been commendable in this campaign and they will be hoping to pull through a big fortress when they host Los Blancos in more than 24 hours time. You will recall that the first leg of this round of 16 tie between the Citizens & Zidane's side ended in a 2-1 victory for City, thereby handing them an advantage ahead of their second leg duel on Friday. It was all seeming like City were having an upper hand after the first leg, but Madrid have returned from the break looking a bit unstoppable.

Los Blancos went as far as toppling their arch rivals Barcelona to lift the Laliga title. The current Spanish champions are playing at a high altitude and it will be hard for anyone to rule them off. With Karem Benzema currently in one of his best scoring form, Madrid looks lethal upfront and they will be ready to march sword for sword with City at the Etihad. On the other end, City's front man Sergio Aguero is set to miss the encounter due to an injury, thereby being a source of worry for some fans.

However, City supporters draw courage and hope from the recent form of Kevin Debruyne, who appears to be the engine room of the squad going into the clash. The Belgian is no doubt currently the best midfielder in the world and has the gift of controlling the game if not kept at bay. With City having Lost the Premier League to Liverpool, they will be going all out against an almost unstoppable Madrid side. What do you think, you see Manchester City going through?
