To many persons, Pride negates etiquettes to an extent and it's not a character worthy of emulation. Growing up, my parents, teachers, senior friends and moralists have always try in one way or the other to teach me how to be humble and refrain from being proud. They left no stone unturned and even went as far as referring me to some Biblical scenarios that pride led to the downfall of some mighty men. In my clime, Religion exerts a great influence and there is this inner willingness to agree to religious tenets more often.

They weren't trying to say that Pride generally is not bad, especially when one has a reasonable reason to be proud of himself, maybe of his accomplishments and other endeavours. But it becomes a bad demeanour when it makes us look down on others or disregard their value because we feel more highly placed or of high value. This I think is the Bad side of pride we've been persuaded to desist from. However, there is a Man whose pride I've come to admire so much, and even though it makes him think of himself as a god in his field, I still can't stop liking him for it.

His Name is ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC!

The name Ibrahimovic isn't a new name for any average soccer enthusiast, in fact it often makes the headlines for the past decade in the soccer universe. It's either he scores a jaw breaking goal that makes people wonder how it got in, or he pulls one of his stunts by going physical maybe on another player or even the referee at times. With his big body frame, he is one of the scariest striker any defense would pray to play against. From aerial balls to firing net-piercing shots, the former Swedish captain is a dread to opponents and he doesn't hide his feelings talking about his heroics.

However, one stuffs he has never beat about the bush is his consciousness that he is the best in what he does, and he doesn't need the Ballon d'Or award to prove his status. He has played in almost all the top leagues in Europe and has won the league title with almost all of them. Picking up the Golden boats as he goes, and not even his body frame is a barrier. Instead, it's a big advantage for him and he has trained himself enough to be able to utilize his natural endowment.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Pride Is What Motivates Him

It may interest you to know that different people have different things that motivates them. To some, they are inspired by other people's success, to others, their inspiration comes from their fear to fail like others did, hence, they're spurred by the failures others. However, for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it's a different case all together. The former Swedish captain is motivated by his pride, the consciousness that he is the best and his unapologetic posture towards his comments that could be a bit harsh on other players.

While many think Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are better players than the Swedish Legend, Zlatan mince no words in seeing himself as the best among equals. He is least worried about the opinion of others about him and this makes him work hard to meet up his ego. Week in week out, he never fails to drop something spectacular or out of the moon, and it's just why he considers himself as the best.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Proves Himself Again Against Los Angeles FC

It was another interesting encounter on Friday evening in Major League Soccer between two heavyweights, as LA Galaxy went head to head against a highflying Los Angeles FC side. It was a game that was not only about the winning or points, but also a battle of pride between two top players, Carlos Vela and of course Ibrahimovic. Ahead of the game, the Swedish man had minced no words in proclaiming himself as the best player in the league, despite Carlos Vela being the league top scorer. It was a comment that sparked lots of uproar in the media, and many looked forward to seeing what players would do when they finally meet each other on Friday's clash.

In the end, Zlatan Ibrahimovic proved himself capable of doing what he says. When he made the comment ahead of the clash, it sounded a bit like one of those talks anyone would find hard backing up. The Swedish man does not only talk the talk, he walks the walk and as usual he did it in his Normal fashion. Zlatan netted a hat trick against the Vela's Los Angeles FC to secure a 3-2 victory over their rivals. It's not the fact that he scored the goals is what matters to many, but how he scored them. Did you see that first strike from the outside of his boot? It was too spontaneous and yet sublime finish. He took the goalkeeper unawares, I doubt if any keeper would have predicted that strike though.

It's clear that Pride has lots of positivism that comes with it. The need to work hard and stay at the top, the need to always come through when it matters the most, the refusal to settle for less and the inner will to maintain your status. For Ibrahimovic, his pride motivates toward all these.

Do you admire him too?
