It was an awesome Wednesday for the Jurgen Klopp Led Liverpool side, as they came from behind to secure a 3-1 win over the Lyon. An early Memphis Depay's penalty goal for Lyon seemed like it was gonna be another preseason defeat for the European Champions, but with Liverpool's big boys having returned, the team did what they know how to do best, and that's winning.

Allison Becker made a mess of his standards after his encounter with Moussa Dembele, which resulted in a penalty, of course Delay made no mistake about it. The Liverpool goalkeeper has finally resumed action ahead of the season after a fruitful Cops America tournament in Brazil. However, with the likes of Firmino and Mohammad Salah all back to the Liverpool front line, you're always sure of some attacking stunts.

An equaliser from the Brazilian Firmino shows that the attacker is back with the winning flames of Cops America. As expected, the Egyptian Mohammed Salah was operating from the right flank with his pacy runs. The left footed goal poacher have decided to put his African Cup of Nations misfortune behind him and face what lies ahead in his Club. Though, he didn't score against Lyon on Wednesday, but one could feel his impact. He would have loved yo return to Anfield with the AFCON medal, but sometimes, Life doesn't work that way.

The European Champions ensured they went into halftime with a lead, thanks to a Joachim Anderson's own goal which made the scoreline 2-1. Liverpool certainly knew if they must keep their morale high ahead of their Community Shield with the Premier league Champions Manchester City on Sunday, beating Lyon was nonnegotiable. It's definitely gonna be an interesting encounter between two teams that have now become the top contenders for next season's title.

A Community Shield trophy at hand with the pride that comes with being a European Champion will sure be a good motivation for Klopp's side. The reds had gone four preseason games without a win, it was time to get the show on the road and they made no mistake about it. Harry Wilson justified Klopp's choice of starting him against Lyon on Wednesday, as his remarkable long range strike put the game beyond the reach of Lyon.

It ended 3-1 in favour of the European Champions. When Sadio Mane finally returns to the squad, you're pretty sure this Liverpool side will be up to give Pep's Manchester city a run for their money as they are on a mission to win the English Premier league this season, while also defending their European title. Oh, just before I forget, Xherdan Shaqiri was also in the squad that defeated Lyon on Wednesday, how could I forget that. All eyes are now on the Community Shield Clash that will be taking place at Wembley.
