In a time like this when the entire world has been put on edge by the mysterious outbreak of this ravaging Coronavirus (Covid-19), disturbing news are now the order of the day and our ears are fast growing used to daily death statistics across the world. Corporate bodies and other multi million dollar business are laying off some of their workers, while a host of others have decided to slice the salaries of their workers in order to meet up with their day to day activities. Football Clubs are also cutting the wages or salaries of their players to enable them survive this this trying times. In fact, almost everyone understands the current situation of things and are trying their best to adjust their life and be of help to their employers.

In this period, any act of generosity must be commended and appreciated. This is why I'm making this blog to commend the management of Manchester United Football Club for their display of care towards their staff. Yeah, the Club may not be reputable for making the best decisions in football, especially in transfer market dealings, but I think this particular act of gratitude towards her staff proves they really value their workforce. So what's the big news here? Well, not too long ago, I read in the news that the Premier League side has decided to pay all casual staff their normal match day remunerations for the remaining EPL games at Old Trafford, irrespective of whether the Premier league resumes or not. Such commendable gesture will cost United around £1 million ($1.2m) and is meant to cover about 3,000 people. Isn't that great? I just felt Manchester United have shown other clubs what it means to value your workforce, and I think they deserve an applause.
