The Russian president Vladimir Putin visited the World Cup stadium in Kaliningrad, and talked to local young football players there.

Russia's national coach Stanislav Cherchesov was also there, and he asked for an autograph from the national leader.

"I'll take advantage of my social position. You saw it, right?" Cherchesov said jokingly.

The national coach is now a popular figure in Rissia, whose team surprisingly reached the World Cup quarter-final.

Before and after the match with Croatia, Putin actually gave phone calls to Cherchesov. However, the president attended just one Russia's match at the tournament, the opener against Saudi Arabia, won 5:0 by the hosts.
