Liverpool will have to wait till the final group game to see if they will qualify and also fight for a win against Salzburg. The European champions could not muster up a win against Napoli last night.

Liverpool came into the game with thoughts of revenge after having lost the first leg to Napoli 2-0 in Naples. But it was not to be for the Anfield side as they went down to an early goal by Dries Mertens. They came back strong in the second half and scored the equaliser through the towering defender Dejan Lovren from a corner kick. They however could not score the winner which means they must win their game against Salzburg to qualify for the knock out stage of the competition.

To be very honest I expected Liverpool to have a straight win seeing that they were at home at Anfield. But football proved itself again and it was not to be. In other more worrying news, Fabinho left the field injured in the first half. That is definitely sad news for any Liverpool fan and we wait to see how bad the injury is.
