The European Championships have just begun in Europe, but in South America, Copa America will begin soon, Chile has less chances of coming as tge Copa America winner but it may not be necessary as Alexis Sánchez will be out for a while due to injury.

Alexis Sánchez suffered a muscle injury during training and after further investigation by the team's medical staff, the 32 year old striker has been reported out throughout the group stage. Chile will therefore lack their most experienced player in the matches against Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. Chile play their first match on Monday when they face Argentina.

Alexis Sánchez has otherwise had an excellent season, where he helped win the Italian championship with Inter. He was in 38 games this season, scoring seven goals and accounting for eight assists. The 32-year-old striker has played 137 matches for the Chilean national team and scored 46 goals.
