The United state women national teams on Monday has progressed to the quarter finals of the ongoing U19 Women World Cup. The ladies are now in a poll position to defend the title after surmounting Spain in the round of 16 and are one of the favourites to lift the trophy. This is not going down well with Rapinoe not about the team success but her prolonged protest.

She has remained resolute in her protest to bring the public attention to some racial inequality and police brutality in the United States. The athlete now 33 years of age was the first female and white sport woman in 2016 to kneel when the national anthem was being sang during a sport event. She has not given up her protest since then as she does it in her own way which has been visible at the World Cup by no singing the anthem or placing her hands over on her heart while other members of the team is at it “The Star-Spangled Banner”

It must be noted that in 2017, the United State President Donald Trump was very critical of some athletes who decided to protest during the States national anthem as being t total disrespectful to the country’s heritage. Trump however is response to Rapinoe protest admitted watching the Women World Cup and believes she shouldn’t protest.

When asked in an interview on her stand should the teams eventually emerge winner of the Women's World Cup if she would pay a visit to the White House. Rapinoe was quick in giving her stand that she does not care much about the White House. ““not going to the f*cking White House” she quoted. "No. I'm not going to the White House. We're not going to be invited” as she completed her statement.

The US ladies will on Friday go head to head with another tournament favourite France in the World Cup quarter finals after edging out Spain 2-1. This match is one of those final match before the finals where two strong teams comes face to face to decided who takes what.

On the state of the teams mentality and composure when they were being led by a strong Spanish side in the round of 16 match by a lone goal.

Rapinoe was on the scorer's sheet as she scored the teams only the goal of the game to ensure that the reigning Champions overcome their Spanish counterpart. The team will be looking forward to their game with France to know who progresses to the next round.
