Argentine “River Plate” won the Libertadores Cup for the fourth time in history. In the second leg of the final, he defeated Bockai Juniors, the principal rival, with a score of 3: 1 in extra time. Both teams represent Buenos Aires.

The first game of the final confrontation took place on November 11 on the field “Boca” and ended with the score 2: 2. The return meeting was held in Madrid at the home stadium “Real” called “Santiago Bernabeu”. Such a decision was made by the leadership of the South American Confederation of Football (CONMEBALL) after the River Plate fans attacked the bus with Boca on November 24. Fans smashed the windows of the bus with stones, because of which several football players were injured.

At the very beginning of the extra time (at the 92nd minute) for the second yellow card, the midfielder “Boca Juniors” Wilmar Barrios was removed from the field. River used numerical advantage in the 109th minute when Juan Quintero scored. Another goal in the 120th minute, Gonzalo Martinez scored into an empty net, so the goalkeeper came to the corner at the front of goal.
