I guess you know him,the mercurial wonder of a captain of Liverpool in his playing days. He was made the captain at just 23years of age. As captain he led Liverpool to win the Champions League in the 2004/2005 season, their first in 21years. He left Liverpoool a decade later have ammassed a whooping 186 goals for the club and that is from his position as a midfielder. He was regarded by many as one of the most complete footballers in his time. He finally retired from club football in 2016. His name is Steven George Gerrard.

In 2018, Rangers of Scotland signed him as their manager. Such a big club in Scotland that needed a revival after financial turmoils and he brought that breath of refreshing to Rangers, capturing the Scottish League title last season, their first since 2011.

Today something is brewing, and the attraction of the Premier League can be dizzying at times. It's at Aston Villa, who sacked their coach recently. They have zeroed in on Steven Gerrard and they are about to confirm him as their new manager. Infact the paperworks and contract are right now at the final stages and Gerrard and the Villa board are currently working on the identity of backroom staff.

Aston Villa is reported to be set to pay a compensation of around £3 million, all according to TeleFootball.

For me it is a bit of a surprise, I thought he would stay a year or two more in Scotland and consolidate on what he has just begun to build in Rangers, especially as their main rivals Celtic now boasts a sound coach in,Ange Postecoglou, who would test Gerrard even more than the former one. All this is whilst he puts an eye on Liverpool because it's quite clear that Klopp will soon take a break from football as a whole, Klopp himself has mooted that fact.

I wish Steve G(as he is fondly called) well. It's an interesting repertoire of coaches in the Priemier League now.

Cheers
