He is the handsome André Onana of Cameroonian descent, born on the 2nd of April 1996.
Such a brilliant goalkeeper,who started his career in an academy owned by the Cameroonian great, Samuel Eto'o,called the Samuel Eto'o foundation. From here Barcelona couldn't resist his talent and bought him
In 2015 he joined Ajax Amsterdam of Holland and it is from there the world took note of him,being their first choice,with his amazing reflexes and command of his goal area. With Ajax, he has won the Dutch league twice, he has been an Europa league runners up and he was a key that amazing run of Ajax into the UEFA Champion's League semi-final in the 2018/19 season. He has won other trophies too.
In 2018 he was given the giant honour,at such a young age, of being named the Cameroonian footballer of the year and in the 2018/19 season, also the Dutch league named him among the team of the year; just to name a few of his individual achievements.
Sadly, in In Feb 2021 he was slapped with a 12month suspension from playing football by UEFA for doping violations,which after he appealed (because it wasn't intentional[Ajax said the banned substance was in a medicine his wife gave him,which she uses,so he didn't know the content]) it was reduced to 9 months.
This month will make it the ninth month and big clubs are "salivating" over him. Lyon,Arsenal and Inter Milan being the clubs who seem more publicly interested however.
It's interesting to discover that Inter Milan have gone ahead of everyone. Since July they had entered a verbal agreement with Onana for a 4 year deal. Inter Milan is said to be absolutely unperturbed by the competition from other clubs for his signature,they expect him to complete the deal in the next few months as the ban expires.
I think that would be a beautiful move for Onana.
