Competition they said brings out the best in every individual and that we can see as what is currently happening at Stamford Bridge this season has Chelsea continues to prove doubtful minds wrong with lots of positive results and good play. It was a big discussion in the beginning of the season about how the club will be able to stand against other clubs that were able to strengthen their team in the transfer window due to the fact that the club were not chanced to bring in new players to challenge for every competition they are participating in and for the fact that the English league according to many people was identify as the most competitive league also makes lot of football lovers to reach the conclusion that the club will have to fight for relegation.

Actually, it looks like their assertion was right anyway when the club was thrashed 4-0 in their opening game against Ole Solskjaer side and the team inability to keep a clean sheet against some of their opponents but one thing that is noticed about this side is how they dominate the possession against their opponents and create chances up front. The club faith now lies in the hands of some academy graduates which are performing great and some experienced players that can also help the young lads to understand how things in been done in the league and some European competition because many of them are just making their debut in the league.

Aside from the goal keeping department, there seems to be a lot of competition in other departments of the club ranging from the defenders to the attackers despite the club inability to bring in new players during the transfer window. A. Rudiger was identified as the main man in the defense line due to his performance for the club under the managerial of Sarri but the defender is yet to contribute to the progress of the team so far due to injuries and that has witnessed some of the club players on loan returning back to the club to prove themselves and fill in some gap. The central back now has Zouma, Christensen and academy graduate Tomori all doing well for the club which has actually brings about some competition between them on who will feature for the club on matchday. The manager has made some rotation among these players to correct some of the errors being made in the back line. Here now, the competition will be between these four players as long as Rudiger is fit for match and their is not injury update among them.

Coming to the midfield, this is where the competition is very high because there a lot of options here and based on the manager formation, the highest that can make up the starting line up is 3, although, some of this players can still be deployed to the flank and they will still perform very well. The club now has 6 players who can actually play in this role with some still out to injury while some are still battling with match fitness. Jorginho has been consistent in the team so far this season while Ngolo Kante, the man which was actually the heart of the midfield for the team has been battling with lot of injuries and has not been consistent for the team and his absent has gave Kovacic the chance to form a good partner with Jorginho in the midfield which the third choice here has always be between Mount and Barkley.

The competition also continues in the attacking role together with the wings as young striker Tammy Abraham suddenly became the first choice in the line up ahead of Giroud and Batshuayi. In fact, as it stand now, it seems Giroud has now became the third choice with Abraham been replaced by Batshuayi recently. It will be very hard for any manager to drop a player with 8 goals in 9 league matches to the bench and that is how Abraham finally took the spot in the team. Coming to the flanks now is the competition between Willian, Pulisic, Pedro and Hudson-Odoi. Although, Pedro is out for awhile now but the return of Odoi to the team has seen the manager using him and Willian from the flank to partner Abraham up front while Pulisic remain second half substitute despite impressing the manager from the bench.

All these actually has bring about the success of the club so far this season as every player is trying to get himself into the starting line up while most of the young academy graduates sees this period as the best time for them to prove what they are capable of for the club and secure the their place permanently in the team to avoid the issue of being send out on loan again because it was their dream to play in the Blue jersey.
