Watford became the first club in the new season to change their manager after managing just one point in their opening 4 league matches. The club is currently sitting at the bottom of the league and will have to improve on their tactics and play to come out of the relegation zone. Javi Gracia was replaced immediately after the club announces his departure by Sanchez Flores who has also manage the club some years back.
Gracia last season, took the Watford team to the FA cup final against Manchester City which ended up in a 6-0 thrashed, one of the biggest cup final result and also make sure the team finished in the 11th position last season but after just 4 games in the league this season, it seems the club will have to fight for relegation and one can not really blame Gracia anyway because the club didn't spend much in the summer transfer window. The club occupied the 14th position in terms of spending in the transfer market by spending just £45.5m.
Sanchez Flores who had once work with the club some years back will now be in charge as the new manager, Flores was Watford manager in 2015 when the club promoted to the premier league from the second division but did not spend more than a season with the club before leaving. He took the club to the FA cup semi final as well before stepping down but the club has now recall him back after he left his role in his Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua in July and will now be in charge when the league resume back next week.
Watford So Far This Season
There is nothing to write about as far as the team performance is concern because it was a disappointing result in their opening game to Brighton when the lost 3-0 in front of their own fans and their second game also ended up in a lost to Everton and West Ham, the only fair result we can talk about is the draw at Newcastle United before the international break and that has made the board to act fast before things finally falls apart. Watford has failed to recorded a win in their last 8 games since the defeated Huddersfield in April which i think is really a bad one for the club.
The Return of Sanchez Flores
It is not the first time club will be calling back their old manager but the question is for how long will Flores stay in the club before finally show the exit door as well because he will be facing two major test when the league resume next week, one to Arsenal and the other one to Manchester City. I don't see him getting any point in those two games and that will also make things worst for them. He will first welcome Arsenal at home on September 15 which is on Sunday and the board will be waiting for how he is going to apply his own tactics and another test to Manchester City is what many Watford fans will also be waiting for. The return of Flores will now make it 9 managers for the club since 2013.
