New boss, bad results...
Since the takeover of Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht by billionaire Marc Coucke on january first of 2018 Anderlecht has had a very difficult year on the pitch. Although a complete re-structuring of the club was necessary and the business know-how and money of the new mecenas are undisputed. The results on the pitch have been of the lowest tier since before World War II.
The re-structuring of the club still is not finished, and it is an unwritten law in football, that such things are always reflected onto the pitch. In the case of Anderlecht, we are talking about 49 % of the points that could have been won in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. For the record champion (32 titels) of Belgium that is just unacceptable.
Last chance for 50 %!
Tonight Anderlecht plays against Waasland-Beveren at home, and only with a win, they would clear the 50 % mark for 2018. Let's hope for them, they will, but still this year will go into books as an Annus Horribilis.
The new structure needs to be set soon, and will need to stand tall for them to crawl out soon!
Sincerely,
