Xherdan Shaqiri has been officially announced as Liverpool's player. Liverpool is reported spent 13 million pounds to get Shaqiri from Stoke City. Shaqiri admitted that he is grateful with this transfer because he had long wanted to join Liverpool. 

"A few years ago I wanted to come but it did not happen.I'm very happy to finally be here," Shaqiri said as quoted by BBC.

"As a player, you always want to play at the highest level - Liverpool is a great team with a long history, great players and fantastic coaches, I want to win with the best team," Shaqiri added. 

According to Juergen Klopp, Shaqiri's experience in the Premier League is an added value and will be very useful. 

"I'm an old admirer of Shaqiri, we (Liverpool) got a bonus because he already knows the Premier League," Klopp said.

"He has speed and ability, Shaqiri is a courageous and influential player in the field and can play in many positions in our system," Klopp added.

Shaqiri joins Liverpool after Naby Keita and Fabinho, who joined previously in the transfer window this summer. Shaqiri will use number 23 on his jersey. The number was previously used by Emre Can who decided to move to Juventus.

Shaqiri has played 84 times and scored 15 goals and 15 assists with Stoke City in three years.
