If there is anything that kills a football league faster, I think it's the untrammelled dominant of a particular team year in year out. It makes football boring and too predictable for entertainment. You will agree with me the teams like Bayern Munich in Germany, PSG in France and Juventus in Italy have continue to enjoy unmatched reign in their domestic adventures. Not too long ago, it was Barcelona and Real Madrid having the ride in Spain, but it seems the Spanish giants are beginning to lose their dreadful dominance.

Last season, we saw Valencia beat Barcelona to lift the Copa Del rey. It wasn't funny and many of us were stupefied by the result of that game. Now this year, the storyline is even funnier as non of the two clubs made it to the semi finals of the competition. Yesterday, Madrid got kicked out by Real Sociedad is a game that recorded a whooping seven goals. The funny sight was Madrid trailing by 3 goals 😂, like, who saw that coming. Los Blancos did their best trying to fight their way back, but their opponents were more resilient in finishing victorious.

The game later ended 3-4 in Favour of Sociedad, marking the end of Madrid's possible treble this season. At the other end were Barcelona who also got whipped out by a known foe Athletic Bilbao. Setien's side saw their Copa quest brought to an abrupt end by a late goal. With no Barca nor Madrid in the competition, it's a reflection of how hard it's been for both Clubs, and it's only a matter of time before we see the likes of Real Sociedad, Bilbao etc gunning for the laliga.
