In Saudi Arabia, they are certainly very unhappy about he 0:5 defeat against Russia in the opening match of the 2018 World Cup. The Middle Eastern team were hardly a favourite in that game, yet no one believed Russia would win with such a big gap.

Adele Izzat, the president of the Saudi Arabia Football Federation, said that some team players will be subject to disciplinary action.

“We are very upset about the defeat. This is a completely unsatisfactory result, since it does not reflect the level of our training. Several players will get a penalty — goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Mayouf, striker Mohammad Al-Sahlawi and defender Omar Hawsawi," Izzat promised.

Saudi Arabia will play their next World Cup match against Uruguay on 20 June.
