Milan and Inter will probably build a new stadium together. The project will cost about 700 million euros and the construction should be completed by the beginning of the season-2022/23, according to La Repubblica. As La Repubblica reports, Inter and Milan have decided to build a new stadium: the renovation of the San Siro seemed not to be a good idea so it will start a project of € 700 million, for a new plant that will be built next to the San Siro, in the area where is located the large parking lot next to the exit of the underground terminus. Renovation has been excluded for logistical and economic reasons, the two teams that have shown an average audience high, without forgetting that, in the final part of the renovation work, the two clubs were due to play away. Everything is ready, then: Milan and Inter are finalizing the compilation of the documents, inclusive of project and urban development throughout the area, to try to get the go-ahead by the city council and start the work by the end of next season.

Giuseppe Sala, the mayor of the city of Milan, has released some statements to ANSA (Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associata) during the inauguration of the Allianz Cloud, the former PalaLido: “Building of a new stadium is expensive, but I don't want to do conditioning. I'm waiting for Inter and Milan's proposal, it will be here by the holidays. For me San Siro is an extraordinary plant".

In the 2018/19 season, Inter won 4th place in Serie A and won a ticket to the next Champions League season. Milan became the 5th and will play in the Europa League.
