WEEK 4 RECAP

Week 4 of the Premier League produced 32 goals and 4 clean sheets. Lets find out what awaits us in matchday 5.

There are still 5 teams unbeaten this season with Liverpool, Chelsea, Watford all on 12 points, Man City on 10 and Everton on 6. As things stand Liverpool are top of the pile on goal difference but the over performers so far have been Watford who sit in 3rd after recording an impressive win over Tottenham. West Hams nightmare start to the season continued with a home to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers and there are 5 teams yet to pick up a win this season.

The standout game of the weekend has to be the early kickoff between Tottenham and Liverpool with Manchester United facing a difficult away game at unbeaten Watford in the late kickoff.

WEEK 5 PREDICTIONS

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs. LIVERPOOL

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Sat Sep, 15 - 12:30 - Wembley

Spurs welcome Jurgen Klopp’s top of the table Liverpool to Wembley for the lunch time kickoff. The Reds will be look to hit Spurs with a counter-attack game. This is big game for the home side and they will want to recover from their defeat at Watford last time out to avoid the gap becoming 6 points at the top. If Liverpool want to be considered title contenders they will need to win games like this and new goalkeeper Allison will need to learn to cut out the costly tricks!

Expect Spurs to attack Liverpool and for them to be pick off by their front three. This should be an entertaining game but we expect Liverpool to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Our Prediction: Away Win: Liverpool (1-2)

BOURNEMOUTH vs. LEICESTER CITY

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Sat Sep, 15 - 15:00 - Vitality Stadium

The Cherries welcome the Foxes to the Vitality for matchday 5. Last time out Bournemouth suffered their first defeat at the hands of Chelsea and will be looking to get back to winning ways against Claude Puel’s Foxes who also lost to Liverpool.

This will be a tight affair that has traditionally had few goals. Jamie Vardy returns from suspension have served a 3 match ban but 6 of the last games between these two sides have produced 5 draws and expect this one to end in another score draw.

Our Prediction: Draw (1-1)

CHELSEA vs. CARDIFF CITY

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Sat Sep, 15 - 15:00 - Stamford Bridge

Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season against a Cardiff side that is yet to win. This is another difficult game for the Bluebirds and really a bonus game as no one will expect them to get anything out of it. Chelsea will dominant possession and while Cardiff will be looking to try and steal a point we can’t see them holding out for 90 minutes.

Expect this to be a one sided game of attack versus defence with Chelsea running out comfortable winners to keep the pressure on at the top the table.

Our Prediction: Home Win - Chelsea (3-0)

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN vs. CRYSTAL PALACE

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Sat Sep, 15 - 15:00 - John Smith’s Stadium

The Terriers welcome the Eagles on matchday 5 and will be looking to pick up their first win of the season. Palace suffered a surprising home defeat to Southampton last time out while Huddersfield picked up a hard earned point at Everton.

If Palace are to win this game they will need to have Wilfried Zaha on the pitch. They look a completely different team when he is playing. Huddersfield will have ear marked this as a game they can win and expect them to put Palace under early pressure. That being said we expect Palace to hit them on the break a take all 3 points here leaving the Terriers still searching for their first win of what looks like is going to be a long hard season.

Our Prediction: Away Win: Crystal Palace (0-2)

MANCHESTER CITY vs. FULHAM

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Sat Sep, 15 - 15:00 - Etihad Stadium

This has home win written all over it and it will be a case of damage limitation for Fulham. Similar to Cardiffs game against Chelsea this is a bonus game and one they will not be expecting to get anything out of. Man City will control possession and with an on fire Aguero up front expect a few goals.

Again this could be attack versus defence but last time out Fulham let a 2 goal lead slip while Man City edged past Newcastle. Home banker just a question of by how many goals!

Our Prediction: Home Win: Man City (3-0)

NEWCASTLE UNITED vs. ARSENAL

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Sat Sep, 15 - 15:00 - St James’ Park

Rafael Benitez’s Magpies welcome Arsenal to St James’ Park for matchday 5 and we expect him to set up his team defensively exactly the same as when they played Chelsea. While the toon army demand attractive football they understand the constraints financially and are backing their manager.

We have a feeling that this strategy will work against Arsenal as they are not as strong as Chelsea in attack or defence and alot of their players have been away on international duty of course, so this is a good time for Newcastle to play them. They won this game last season and will be looking to repeat that.

Our Prediction: Home Win: Newcastle (2-1)

WATFORD vs. MANCHESTER UNITED

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Sun Sep, 15 - 17:30 -

Watford have been the team of the season so far and remain unbeaten. This will be another real test for the Red Devils but a different type of game to the Burnley one.

Utd's win at Burnley last time out was a big result for them, not just because they they had lost two games in a row, but because they needed to stop all the chatter around Mourinho's future.

Watford will want to attack in from of their home supporters and expect Utd to hit them on the break. We see this being a close game and Utd edging it to claim another 3 points and inflict the Hornets first defeat of the season.

Our Prediction: Away Win: Man Utd (1-2)

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs. BURNLEY

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Sun Aug, 16 - 13.30 - Molineux Stadium

Wolves picked up their first top-flight win of the season last time out, and they played great football in all of their games so far.

Burnley are yet to pick up 3 points this season but are out of the Europa League and can now concentrate on getting back on track. The two week break will have helped them regroup.

This is an important game for both teams with Wolves looking to build momentum and Burnley looking to get their season going. We think it will be an extremely close game with little clear cut chances. The Clarets will be looking to exploit set piece plays and Wolves will have this down as a game they can win.

Our Prediction: Draw (1-1)

EVERTON vs. WEST HAM UNITED

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Sun Sep, 16 - 16:00 - Goodison Park

The Hammers are the only team without a point this season and they have really struggled after spending millions of dollars of their playing squad in the summer. Defensively, they have looked abysmal.

Everton are still unbeaten abut will be disappointed to have dropped points against Wolves, Bournemouth, and Huddersfield. Even though they will be missing a number of key players expect them to bounce back with a win and inflict more misery on the Hammers making it 5 games without a win and a point.

Our Prediction: Home Win: Everton (2-1)

SOUTHAMPTON vs. BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION

Courtesy of BBC Sport

Kickoff: Mon Sep, 17 - 20:00 - St Mary's Stadium

Both teams have 4 points from their first 4 games however the Seagulls have not traveled well so far this season while the Saints have struggled for goals at home. Expect an open game with chances for both teams. We expect Danny Ings to be the difference and he is starting to look like the player Liverpool signed!

Our Prediction: Home Win - Southampton (2-0)
