Spurs lost London derby against Chelsea and showed us they lack quality to be in top 4 this season. In yet another dreadful display one could say they won themselves by their own mistakes and stupidity. I was so angry while watching this pathetic non powerful display of those discharged players which could not go on other half with ball most of the time. Pathetic backward passes and then desperate long balls from last line of defense and inability to win any aerial duel on center lead to Chelsea attacks in waves.
First who made crucial mistake was of course "car crush". Without obvious reason he sent clearly his ball into corner. That was not all from Serge "car crush" Aurier because after short corner he failed to go on Willian on time and Chelsea player fired up ball in far away corner of Gazzaniga's goal. It was easier than on training ground! Rest of Spurs players just watched that and also failed to block that shot.
Spurs struggled to get the ball, defenders were completely unable to pass the ball to defensive midfielders which should carry it on other half. Meaningless backward passes following by long pass toward center lifted frustration among attackers and attacking midfielders. That came to the point when Dele Alli tried to ride Kovacic on center in helpless anger after failing to get the ball. Two sides almost end up in box match after that.
Tottenham made just two attacks in entire first half. First was when Sissoko finally moved like he should, got the ball, cross from right flank was solid, but H. Kane was blocked good and his shot went well above goal. Soon after Son shot sky high from second post.
Just when everyone thought it will end up with just 0:1 and that Mourinho will do something good at half time, new karate kid stepped up on big scene. Clearly his ball came into the box, but Spurs goalkeeper tried to kick it with some kind of "black belt first day" karate kick. He miserably missed entire ball and knocked down Chelsea player and VAR gave said for away side! Willian easily scored for 0:2 and that was mountain to climb for Spurs in second half.
Mourinho let Erisken in instead of indisposed Dier, but that didn't help much. Ball could enter into Chelsea half but "car crush" often gave it away with his poor crossings or bad passing. Alli didn't jump out from Kante's pocket neither did Kane from Ruddier's. Lucas was in stealth mode just like Son. Chelsea was more dangerous from counter attacks.
We could soon see that things can go even worse, because stupidity of some of Tottenham players has no borders. One promising attack and foul for Spurs, Son is on the ground and what he did ? He did a donkey kick if you know what i mean! While on the ground he somehow kicked like donkey and hit chest of Chelsea player who did not miss this great opportunity and fell like his bowels are all out. He reposed on the ground like dead man and VAR said it's red card for Son. Kick was not to strong, but was evident and showed luck of brain of Korean player. This was not his first time to get red on stupid way. It's third in this year.
Rest of the game passed in pointless possession of ball for Spurs, even N'dombele couldn't help. It was big luck that Chelsea didn't score another goal from counter attack. It was frustrating, poor, dreadful and discharged performance of Tottenham. One which also ruined my bet on both teams to score and over 2.5 goals. Asking from them to score at least one goal on home ground was to much for those pathetic group of players!
It's interesting to scrutinize what did Gazzaniga think about during that kung fu kick, or where was Son's brain in that donkey kick or why is Mourinho keeping "car crush" as starter in every game ? Why N'Dombele, Lo Celso or Foyth can't start any match ? Another question is why players don't move enough on pitch and make themselves free for passes ? Why defenders can't find defensive midfielders with balls ? Why were Spurs discharged in all aerial duels ?
