It was dream night for Luka Jovic and Eintracht Frankfurt! We were privileged to watch Bundesliga game between Eintracht Frankfurt and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Game ended with amazing 7:1 victory for home side. Man of the match was young Serbian player Luka Jovic who scored amazing 5 (yes five you see it right) goals on every way you can imagine! Left foot shoot, volley, right foot shoot, header, rebound from the post etc... Only 20 year old Serbian ex Red Star player who was born in Bijeljina - Bosnia was in squad because main striker Ante Rebic was not able to play. I think he will become regular starter after tonight because that what he did we don't see every day.
Game started with his big chance, N'Dicka pass to Jovic who run alone toward Fortuna goalkeeper Rensing, but his first touch was to strong and ball went to much forward. He managed to shoot but missed the goal from 100% chance. Who thought that this is the guy who will score 5 tonight ? Just after that referee watched VAR and decided to give Eintracht penalty because in previous situation one Fortuna player plaid by hand in the box. Goalkeeper was on the ball, but shoot was to strong and end in the net for 1:0.
Few minutes later we saw the most beautiful scene in the game. It was Serbian action where Gacinovic who plaied as world class player tonight pass to Kostic on the left flank who then cross in the box where Jovic jumped backward to hit the ball with left foot in volley to score euro goal under the crossbar!
Then in 34. minute Gacinovic passed to Haller who pass to Jovic who shoot in first touch with left foot and scored once more for 3:0 !
We soon saw great chances for Eintracht where Fortuna goalkeeper tips the ball to the crossbar after shoot by Tooro. In 42. min Gacinovic played great with De Guzman and noticed goalkeeper went out of goal and tried to score from long range, but the ball went wide of goal. In 45. minute N'Dicka did header after corner but the ball bounces off the crossbar!
Fortuna coach made 2 substitutions at half time, but things get only worse for his side. Eintracht made good attack and the ball deflected from Fortuna's player stright to Haller who chips the ball over the keeper and increase lead to 4:0!
Then in 53. minute Fortuna player Lukebakio scored nice goal from 16-20 m. He made great shoot and ball ended in the net. Consolation goal for Fortuna. When some fans thought they might come back in the game or make this defeat honorable, Luka Jovic jump on the scene again!
55. minute Kostic who was unsolved mistery for Fortuna defenders during all of the game, because he is faster and more skill than defenders, give himself long pass on left flank run as a wind and find who else than Jovic in the box. Striker was turned with his back to the goal but then made extraordinary touch to the ball and then quickly turn around and somehow in fall shoot the ball in the net for 5:1! Great skill!
Jovic's show continued in 69. minute when he got the ball in the box and shoot from not so good position but hit the post and the ball deflected in the net! That was his night! 6:1!
Ex Red Star Serbian player then in 72.min reacted on cross from flank with great header and show us that he can not only score with both legs but with head too! He was higher in jump than Fortuna's defender and scored by head for 7:1!
We saw some more chances until the end but result remained the same.
Close to the end scorer of 5 goals was replaced to receive standing ovations by the crowd and congratulations from rest of squad members. This is going to be unforgettable night for young Luka Jovic! Only him and Robert Lewandolski scored 5 goals on one match recently.
Well done Luka! Coach Adi Hütter will be in "sweet pain" when he need to decide who will start the game as striker in Eintracht! Same pain will have Mladen Krstajic for Serbian national team squad!
