This is the first time a female referee will be officiating men's football in Africa and it's good to see that Africa is now joining the rest of the world.

A Nigerian referee named Basheer Salisu will be the first female referee to be officiating men's football. We're going to be seeing this at the Cup of Nations holding in Tanzania this on the 31st this month with three other female referees who have also been selected for the tournament.

The names of other female referees have also been shortlisted to officiate in the tournament include Mary Wanjiru from Kenya, Jonesia Rukyaa Kabakana from Tanzania, and Lidwine Rakotozafinoro from Madagascar.

This is a good development for African football just that it won't be an easy job for a female referee to officiate African men's football especially when her decisions does not favour any of the opponents.

This is a great development and I hope to see this in men's national tournaments in Africa

What do you guys think about this?
