Manchester were beaten by 3 goals to two yesterday in the champions league by German opposition RB Leipzig.
The home side took an early lead when left full back Angelino bumped forward and smashed in a cross to the bottom left corner of the United goal. Leipzig again to advantage of the porous man united defense to and got a second this time from their right side of attack through Haidara who found the bottom left corner of the united goal with a one time finish.
Returning for the second half, United tried to fight back but Leipzig got a third when substitute Justin Kluivert chipped past Degea to give the host a 3nil advantage.
United continued to fight back and were awarded a penalty after Mason Greeenwood was brought down in the penalty area and Bruno Fernandez steeped up and converted. The red devils also got a second from substitute Paul Pogba who nodded home from a Bruno Fernandez corner kick.
The visitors tried to get an equalizer which would have been enough to send through to the second round but Leipzig held firm and United demoted to the second tier of European football.
