Today is the start of a regular horse racing column that aims to bring you some great racing tips. For these tips we use two methods - Trainer Trends and Race Trends. For Trainer Trends we look for trainers with proven records in a particular race and for Race Trends we look to proven profiles that excel in a particular race.

These parameters leaves us with PETROU and FACT OF THE MATTER. Of the two I definitely want to be with PETROU who is lightly raced and comes from a stable that are bang in form. Significantly PETROU won the first race on the card last year so is proven at this time of the year and at this particular meeting, suggesting he's been well and truly laid our for this race.
Backing Advice (scale 1-10 points): 2 points win Petrou @ 3-1 generally bog
Trading Advice: you should be able to employ a back to lay strategy by taking the 3-1 best price now and then laying it on the exchanges. Wouldn't surprise me were you be able to lock in a profit pre-race as I can see this fella going off nearer 2-1 at the off. If you're looking to trade out in-running I'd be looking to trade out at around 2.4.
4.50 Sandown
- 4/4 of the last 4 winners were rated 78-80
- 4/5 winners finished in the first 4 LTO
That leaves just the one runner in WE ARE THE WORLD. He ran well last time out and comes from a stable in form. Ground won't be a problem and he's such a big price that he rates an eachway bet.

Trading Advice: you should be able to employ a back to lay strategy by taking the 22-1 best price now and then laying it on the exchanges. I'd look to double our money so trading out nearer 11.0 in-running is the call.
