On the eve of World Cup Final 2018, there has been an obvious influx of companies seeking to attract both casual and dedicated soccer fans with World Cup competitions, games and betting opportunities.

But, which Blockchain Soccer games are set to benefit from the gaming industries huge growth potential over the long-term?

Gaming is now a £100 Billion Industry

According to a report by Newzoo's last year titled 'Insights into the $108.9 Billion Global Games Market' games are rapidly becoming the world's favourite pastime.

With more time being spent on games, the money flow into them increases. For the 5 year period leading up to the report, global gaming revenue increased by 56% (up from £70billion in 2013) and by 2020 it is projected that this figure will increase by further 20% to £128.5billion annually.

Soccer DApp's and Cryptocurrencies

As the concept of gaming on the blockchain edges closer to reality, the frequency and volume of new Sports and Gaming DApp's (Decentralised Application) and ICO's (Initial Coin Offerings) have risen dramatically.

It is clear that the DApp's and ICO's are targeting the millions of gamers who are currently spending record amounts to play the most popular games like Pro Evolution Soccer, FIFA, Football Manager and Soccer Manager.

But what choices are currently under development to lure avid soccer gamers onto the blockchain?

Be Cautious - Stay Informed

Be aware that according to a survey from news.Bitcoin.com 46% of all ICOs in 2017 either flopped at the funding stage or have gone out of business since launch.

With the latest figures showing similar failure rates in 2018 and Blockchain gaming still in its infancy, we believe it is still too early to see soccer gamers switching away from the games they know and love in their masses.

There is, however, a growing number of eyes keeping tabs on developments in the ICO market, and riches are surely waiting for the companies who deliver on their promises.

By proxy, strong growth opportunities will present themselves too for investors and gamers that can correctly identify those that will go on to succeed.
