If someone tries to hurt you, he will attack you. It is not that he will attack you with bare hands. He might have some sort of weapons. When we talk about self defense in real life, don't expect that it would be a fair fight. So what you have you can use that as a weapon to defend yourself.

So what do you usually have when you are outside?

If you are a student and you are going to college, you have books and pen. What else do you have that you usually wear? You have your belt. A long time ago, I was thinking about whether you can use the belt to defend yourself or not. I did not see anything like people using a belt to defend themselves.

Wait a minute. Someone can hit you with his belt. Something that can be used to hit someone, you can also use that for self defense. A belt is long, so it can be used to strike the attacker from a certain distance. By the way, do you like to watch movies? Let's take a break and watch a movie clip. We can talk about it later. I'm not going anywhere ;)

Jet Li

Yes, this is one of the popular movies. You see Jet Li in a fight with a general. At the end, you see the belt. Okay, the belt again. Before moving on, let me tell you something. When we watch a movie, that's for entertainment unless that movie is made based on history or show the reality. What you see in a movie, that might not be applicable in real life for self defense.

When you learn martial arts, you also train using different martial arts weapons. The way you use a stick and move the stick around your body, you can do the same using a belt. You can move the belt around your body. The attacker will find it difficult to attack.

So you can use your belt to prevent the attacker from attacking you. The belt is moving fast around your body like a stick and if the attacker comes closer to attack, he will definitely hit by the belt. At the same time, you can strike him with the belt.

Thank you so much for reading this. We will continue next time. Please feel free to express your thoughts in the comments below. If you like martial arts and want to learn more about self defense, please check out some of my recent posts.
