When we talk about self defense, we usually talk about how to strike and what to do to defend yourself. A fight does not happen automatically. There is a background. Of course, some fights do, and you have no control. In this post, we are talking about the fight where you have the option to talk.

When you learn self defense, instructors usually teach how to defend yourself against a particular attack and what to do physically. I have been practicing martial arts for a long time, and have some experience. Sometimes a fight starts from the way they start talking.

Saying something bad or making the person angry does not help you when you fight for self defense. Please do not do monkey dance - getting close to your opponent, shouting and showing off. If you want to avoid a fight, make a distance even while talking. In case the guy attacks you, you would be in a better place to defend yourself.

Everything does not necessarily end up in a fight. Talk to the person. Have an open mind. If you make a mistake, say sorry. When you talk to the person honestly, things might change. So verbal defense is very important. If the door is open to talk, you can solve a lot of things.

There are situations where whatever you say; it does not help to avoid a fight. If the attacker wants your money or watch and you give that to him, he might not attack you. But when the attacker intends to hurt you, giving your money, phone, or watch might not work. He will attack you anyway. Knowing that very well, you can still give your money or watch, and make your move when he gets distracted.

Here we are talking about a fight when you are being attacked, and your life is in danger. You have the right to defend yourself. At the same time, you do not want to attack someone seriously when he does not mean to hurt you.

Some people are very good at handling a challenging situation and stop getting it worse. Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below. I can learn something from you. I love to learn and share that with others. Thank you so much for reading this post.
