The Milwaukee Brewers 65-62 host the Arizona Diamondbacks 64-64 tonight. Both teams are looking to stay in playoff contention as the regular season winds down. As you can see both clubs have an overall record right around the .500 mark which is good, but in order to make the playoffs, a streak of some sort may be in order.

The Diamondbacks will send Merrill Kelly to the mound tonight, he's 9-12 on the year with a 4.63 ERA. Through 142.0 IP he has 114 K's, he's given up 24 long balls and issued 38 walks so far. Not the best numbers but he's been helping his club win here and there.

The Brewers will counterr with newly aquired right-hander Jordan Lyles, he's 7-8 with a 4.96 ERA, through 103.1 IP he has 108 K's, he's given up 20 home runs and walked 44 batters. Most of statistics are from his time with the Pitsburgh Pirates. He should help the Brewers down the strech.

As of today the Diamondbacks are barely holding on to playoff hopes, they're five games back of the second wild card spot but five teams ahead of them with better records. Not only will they need to streak, but they will need other teams to lose as well. The Brewers are 3.5 back of the second wild card and 4 games back in the NL Central, trailing both the Cubs and the Cards.

Enjoy the game everyone.
