Seattle Mariners- After a Strong Start, Mediocrity

The Seattle Mariners are my home team, and near to my heart. I have fond memories of going to games at T Mobile (formerly Safeco) Field and taking in a game on a Spring day. Big names like Ken Griffey-Jr and Ichiro have made for some entertaining games. What began as an exciting 2019 MLB season for the Mariners has become mediocrity.

The Mariners currently sit at position 5 in AL West with a .435. This is a far cry from their record breaking season beginning with homeruns to start. The broke the season starter MLB record with a 13-2 record prior to their slump. The Mariners followed their 13-2 with an embarrassing 3-13 and currently stand near the bottom of their division.

The Mariners have suffered some large losses this year, and are essentially in a holding pattern. They could pull some out by utilizing Felix Hernandez and Santana. They will need to really pull it together.
