The first matchups of the MLB The Show Players League featured the Texas Rangers jumping out to an early lead in the standings, going undefeated in their opening four games, while the Boston Red Sox struggled, as they go winless to start out the season.

The Cincinnati Reds also had a nice start, going 3-1, while the Tampa Bay Rays and Houston Astros both went 2-2. The Minnesota Twins begin the year with a 1-3 record.

The Rangers were represented by outfielder Joey Gallo, the Reds were represented by pitcher Amir Garrett, the Rays were represented by pitcher Blake Snell, the Astros were represented by pitcher Lance McCullers Jr., the Twins were represented by pitcher Trevor May, and the Red Sox were represented by pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez.
