On Monday, October 9th, 1944, the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the St. Louis Browns (now Baltimore Orioles) at Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis to win the 41st World Series four games to two. It was the fifth World Series championship for the Cardinals franchise and the fourth that was won in Missouri. These are the top five players that I felt most stood out during the series.
