Litecoin Foundation which spearheads the development of the Litecoin network has sealed the deal of sponsoring the main title fight of UFC 232. The fight would feature the rematch between Jon "Bones" Jones and Alexander Gustaffson. The event would attract millions of viewers, including myself, as it is tagged as one of the greatest light heavyweight title fights in UFC history.
Jon Jones who arguably considered as the most skilled UFC fighter ever is to face the most contested win of his career. Many MMA experts even view that Gustaffson won the first meeting and that this event would finally settle the score or any arguments about it.
Not only that we have one of the most interesting fights in UFC's light heavyweight history, but UFC 232 would also feature I believe two of the most talented women fighter in the history of the sport, the match between Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes. Plus stacked undercards with fighters like Carlos Condit, Chad Mendes, and many others. What I am trying to say is, if you are into MMA, this is a must-watch event for you.
In this event, the Litecoin logo would be displayed in the Octagon to be seen by millions of viewers not only at The Forum in Inglewood, California but also as it is being telecast worldwide. This move by Litecoin Foundation is to further push the agenda of mainstream adoption saying:
“With brands and institutions continuing to push into cryptocurrency and blockchain, this is yet another signal of this technology moving closer towards the mainstream.”
Litecoin Foundation further said that they are hoping that this is only a start of a long-term sponsorship relation between the two companies. Litecoin relate themselves with UFC who started its groundwork with a strong community that eventually propelled its mainstream growth. Litecoin Foundation expressed those sentiments with these statements:
“THIS IS A MILESTONE FOR LITECOIN AND CRYPTOCURRENCY IN GENERAL AS NO OTHER COIN HAS SPONSORED A UFC EVENT TO DATE.”
