UFC Fight Night 149 |Overeem vs. Oleinik|
- Alistair Overeem vs. Aleksei Oleinik - Overeem |KO/TKO| [Rd 2]
- Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan - Makhachev |Submission| [Rd 2]
To be fair, Makhachev should be fighting ranked opponents. It's almost as if UFC gave him this fight as a bit of a punishment, but in a subtle way, for getting involved with the altercation with their golden boy Mcgregor :D. Islam has everything to lose here, though many think that the match-up is some gimme opponent for Islam. Arman is a good fighter. He seems to have an all-around skill set. BUT I think Islam's high level experience will get him to the victory, but not without some adversity in the first round from Arman.
- Marcelo Golm vs. Sergei Pavlovich - Pavlovich |KO/TKO| [Rd 2]
- Roxanne Modafferi vs. Antonina Shevchenko - Shevchenko |Decision|
- Alen Amedovski vs. Krzysztof Jotko - Jotko |Decision|
- Movsar Evloev vs. Seung Woo Choi - Evloev |Submission| [Rd 1]
- Sultan Aliev vs. Keita Nakamura - Nakamura |Submission| [Rd 2]
- Alex da Silva vs. Alexander Yakovlev - Yakovlev |Decision|
Yakovlev seemed so promising when making his debut and he hanged on with both Maia and Usman, and that's something special. His inactivity is alarming. But fighting at Russia will be an advantage here for the "Thunder of the North".
- Shamil Abdurakhimov vs. Marcin Tybura - Tybura |Decision|
Talk about a Heavyweight fight where most people won't be prediction a quick finish, and that's this one :) Both of them are defensive and technical. I think Tybura's youth will get him a decision over a exhausted Shamil (unless of course for the jugdes at Russian events intervene ;) )
- Gadzhimurad Antigulov vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk - Oleksiejczuk |KO/TKO| [Rd 2]
It's crazy that one takedown could change the outcome of this fight. Antigulov does one thing and that's come out aggressively in the first round for the takedown and go for the submission. IF Michal can defend it, or get back to his feet, defending the submission attempts during the first round, he will be left with a gassed out Antigulov for him to have his way with. I have the young Polish fighter to weather the early storm to get the finish in the late first of early second round.
- Rafael Fiziev vs. Magomed Mustafaev - Mustafaev |Submission| [Rd 2]
In my opinion this is the closest fight in the card. Both of them are really talented and aggressive young strikers. Mustafaev coming to the octagon after taking some time off and the debutant here is Fiziev who has been active, though not inside the octagon under big lights. Being the more experienced guy Mustafaev should rely on his wrestling against the specialist striker here. But it's a 50 - 50 match in my opinion.
#Most Confident Pick/s:
- Islam Makhachev
- Movsar Evloev (he is one of the young hot prospects for the division and let's see how he performs)
