Yamaha Movistar rider Valentino Rossi sets high target in MotoGP Netherlands 2018. Rossi is determined to maintain his glory at Assen, Netherlands this season.

Assen is very special. The Italian racer managed to succeed at every appearance on the circuit. The Doctor won several times at Assen. The victories were achieved in the 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, and 2017 seasons.

Rossi is very excited to compete at Assen. He wants to defend his title as King of Assen this season

"The track is fantastic, I really like it. M1 works very well. The weather forecast also makes us optimistic for this weekend. We will try it. I came here after several podiums. I want to continue the positive trend in this route, "said Rossi, as quoted from Speedweek, Friday (29/06/2018).

Rossi had problems while performing at the fourth free practice session. The Doctor finished in 11th position. He finished in the top four in the three previous sessions.

The problem was gone in the qualifying session, Rossi outperformed his teammate Maverick Vinales, who will start at sixth position of the starting grid. Vinales always finish in front of Rossi in four free practice sessions.

"Start at front row is a great result. Because, at the fourth free practice session I was not in my top performance, that's why my motor looks sluggish. Therefore, I hope I can get my performance back "said Rossi as quoted from Crash on Sunday (1/7/2018).

Starting the race from the front row is the chance for Rossi to win the first race for Yamaha in 2018 MotoGP. It's been long enough for Yamaha to be the best again in MotoGP.

Will Yamaha win at Assen? Interesting to wait for.
