Catalunya - Yamaha Movistar riders, Valentino Rossi, was satisfied can finish in third place on Catalan GP. For Rossi, this achievement is better than the year before that on that circuit with a track length of 4.6 km.
In a race held at the Circuit de Catalunya, Sunday (6/17/2018), Rossi start from seventh position. The rider who has nickname The Doctor was successfully maintain its speed and finish in third position.
Valentino Rossi recorded a time of 40 minutes 19.664 seconds. He trailed 6.098 seconds from Jorge Lorenzo who won the championship podium.
"I am happy with the achievement of the third podium because last year on this track we are fighting hard and it's a disaster," said Valentino Rossi as quoted in Yamaha Movistar official site, Monday (6/18/2018).
"While this year I can keep pace up to the last lap in a good way," he continued.
Valentino Rossi's happiness is certainly not without reason. Last year, the Italian rider just finished in eighth place on Catalan GP.
An additional 16 points make Rossi still inhabit second place MotoGP standings 2018. The rider who identic with number 46 was collecting 88 points or 27 points difference from Marc Marquez at the top of the standings.
"It's also an important point in MotoGP as I get a little advantage to maintain second place in the standings, I have to keep going like this," Valentino Rossi said.
