As of the 2021 racing season, there have been a total of 69 drivers in the Cup Series with their hometown listed in Illinois. So far, drivers representing the Prairie State have taken a total of 28 wins, 126 top-fives and 228 top-10s in 1,229 starts.

5. Danica Patrick (Active 2012-18)

Patrick claimed seven top-10s in 191 starts, with a best points finish of 24th coming in both the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

4. Bobby Wawak (Active 1965-87)

Wawak picked up 14 top-10s in 141 starts, taking a best points finish of 22nd during the 1976 season.

3. Ted Musgrave (Active 1990-2003)

Musgrave scored 20 top-fives and 55 top-10s in 305 starts during his career, getting his lone top-10 points finish of seventh in the 1995 season.

2. Tom Pistone (Active 1955-68)

Pistone had a pair of wins along with 29 top-fives and 53 top-10s in 130 starts, with his only top-10 points finish coming in 1959, as he finished sixth.

1. Fred Lorenzen (Active 1956-72)

The 1965 Daytona 500 champ took 26 victories, 75 top-fives and 84 top-10s in 158 starts, claiming a best points finish of third during the 1963 season. Despite never winning a Cup Series championship, Lorenzen was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2015.
