A four star recruit for the UCLA Bruins, Shareef was a promising prospect. His future is not so clear now with his health in question. Life is more important than sport.

His heart ailment will require surgery. During workouts over the summer he experienced odd sensations saying that his chest felt funny.

Shareef was wearing a heart monitor and was told to press the button any time he felt he should alert the UCLA medical staff. He did and after discovering his heart ailment which will force him to miss the entire 2018-2019 college basketball season.

During his time off he will be focused on academics and of course his health. Maybe it's for the best. Being a professional athlete is not all that is seems and he is already set for life because of his fathers NBA achievements.

One day we will be so advanced to the point that no health ailment will ever derail a persons dreams. Health will no longer be anything to worry about we will all have perfect health.

I never like hearing that someones dream was taken away from them. Especially when they had so much potential.

But that is life.
