Tonight we will be checking out a Western Conference matchup between Denver Nuggets and LA Clippers. The match will take place at the Pepsi Center and it will mark the 3rd time these two teams play against each other this season.

Denver Nuggets have been sitting at the top of the Western Conference for a while, but have been passes by GSW. Nonetheless, the 2nd place in the West with an overall record of 40-18 is impressive and a huge improvement from what we are used of seeing from Denver. Looking at their last 5 games, Denver have lost 2, against Brooklyn Nets (135:130) and 76ers (117:110), but managed to win their last 3 against Miami Heat (103:87), Sacramento Kings (120:118) and most recently Dallas Maverick on Saturday (104:114).

As for the home games of Denver, they are holding an impressive 19-1 record and a 7 game winning streak. The impressive performance at Pepsi Center puts Denver Nuggets at the top of the list of the best home teams in the West.

On the other side, we have got Los Angeles Clippers who are just barely holding to the playoffs spot. They are currently 8th in the West with an overall record of 33-27 and a 3-2 record in their last 5 games. In the course of those 5 games, Clippers have lost to Indiana Pacers (116:92) and Minnesota Timberwolves (130:120). On the other side, they have managed to win against Boston Celtics (112:123), Phoenix Suns (134:107) and most recently Memphis Grizzlies (106:112).

The most recent win against Grizzlies did work in our favour, however, I was not impressed. Clippers held a 22 point lead towards the end of the 2nd quarter, but Grizzlies somehow managed to catch up by the end of the 3rd quarter. Inconsistency and turnovers of Clippers have almost lost them the match, however, they managed to bounce back in the last quarter and ultimately won the match by 6 points.

After a disappointing performance against Grizzlies, LA Clippers will have no room for mistake as they travel to Denver, where they will face one of the best teams in the league at one of the hardest locations for visiting teams to perform up to par. Comparing the form of these two teams in recent games, it should not come off as a surprise that Denver Nuggets are a favorite here. As we check the Asian Handicap, the line is set at -8.5 on Denver Nuggets, which is far too low. First of all, Denver are just phenomenal at Pepsi Center, where they have lost 1 game in the last 20. Only 1! In addition, Denver have a much better team than Clippers, at least as far as depth goes. With the recent performance of Clippers against Grizzlies, where they let Memphis catch up despite trailing by 20+ points I am just not convinced Clippers are ready to face off against Denver. I Expect Denver Nuggets to dominate Clippers tonight and win with double digits, just like they did the last time the two teams met (121:100).

Prediction: Denver Nuggets -8.50 points
